Chilham certainly lived up to its name on our first dance out of the year! The weather was cold but a quick cuppa in the Copper Kettle Tea Room soon lifted everyone's spirits. We were guests of the Oyster Morris on their annual Fool's Tour, and they are always good company.

The first stand was in the village square where a coach load of Belgian tourists enjoyed an unexpected bonus on their tour of Chilham. It wouldn't surprise you to know that most of them spoke excellent English. They made a very appreciative audience until they retired to the pub. They obviously understood Morris traditions.

Next stop was the Compasses Inn at Crundale. More dancing was followed by an excellent "ploughmans" and the odd beverage.

Finally, we returned to Chilham to the Badgers Hill Farm and Cidery where we were welcomed with a glass or two of mulled cider. Just the thing for a chilly day. We just about completed our programme before the rain arrived. This was the cue (and queue) to end the day with a final cuppa.

A special mention must be made of Trina and Sally who were both dancing out for the first time. They did brilliantly and were a credit to Kettle Bridge. Well done!
