It was almost dark by the time we got going at the "Queen's Head" in Mereworth, as the guests of Hartley Morris. This was a special occasion for three reasons.
  • It was our first dance out of the new season.
  • It was St. George's Day.
  • One of our dancers was celebrating her birthday.
In time honoured fashion, a cake was produced from somewhere with (almost) the right number of candles. Then it was on with the dancing.

For a couple of their dances, Hartley were joined by some scouts who had been receiving some initiation into the murky world of Cotswold Morris. And very well they did too.

Kettle Bridge gave a very spirited performance, brushing away the cobwebs and exercising their rusty limbs. All in all a good start to the new season.
