Last year, Kettle Bridge appeared at the Royal London Society for the Blind (RLSB) Fun Day at Dorton House. We were very pleased to be invited back for the 2011 event.

Just like last year, the weather was gloriously sunny and warm, so we sheltered under the shade of a large tree while waiting for the first stand. Once the Punch and Judy show finished, Kettle Bridge delighted the crowd with performances of Annie's and Colne.

The final dance of the first stand was Churchtown. This is an opportunity for the audience to participate and the usual crop of young children lined up to take part. However, as you can see from the photos, there were a couple of special guests, namely a blue and yellow dragon and a Star Wars character who was a real trouper and went down a storm.

Then it was time for a break and an opportunity to enjoy the other events and stalls. John seemed curiously drawn to the Totally Tutu stand, no doubt reminiscing about his blockbuster performance in Yorkshire earlier in the year.

I particularly liked the group of young singers, who put on a tremendous show. There were some beautiful voices in evidence, especially considering their age.

With so much going on, there were some inevitable overlaps of events, so Kettle Bridge's second stand was slightly delayed. Undaunted, the band and dancers gave it their all with performances of Prescot, Aughton and Cossington.

This brought our day to a close and we all went home weary but pleased to have contributed in a small way to such an excellent cause.
