New Dancers Welcome

We are always looking to welcome new dancers to Kettle Bridge so if you fancy having a go, just get in touch via the Contact page or simply turn up at one of our Tuesday evening practice sessions at St Nicholas' Church Hall, Poplar Grove, Allington, ME16 0DE at 8:00 p.m. You are guaranteed a warm welcome. Our next practices are on Tuesday 26th June and Tuesday 3rd July.

Just Like Buses

You wait ages for a report and then suddenly lots of them appear all at once!

When Boughton Monchelsea Morris invited us to join them at The White House, there was a lot of excitement, with dancers checking that their passports were up to date and the musicians preparing their anti-Trump placards. However, then realisation dawned that actually we were to dance at the West Farleigh pub that bears that name.

We enjoyed an excellent evening (or should that be "had a nice day"?) in good company and with delightful weather. Click here to find out about a musically challenging event.

As promised ...

[The parade]

Leading the Offham parade.

May was a busy month for Kettle Bridge.

Following on from our own May Day celebrations, we were welcomed back to appear at the Offham May Day event. This is always a traditional village festivity featuring a parade, fete, maypole dancing and, of course, a display of morris dancing. The organisers even managed to arrange a brilliantly sunny day!

Talking of annual customs, we also met up with our good friends from Oyster Morris for an excellent evening of dancing in Chilham Square and were once more blessed with lovely weather.

And they are off!

[Over the bridge]

Dancing over the bridge.

The dancing season has well and truly started and all the hard word spent practicing over the winter has paid off.

We started with a return appearance at the English Festival which was held in Riverside Country Park, Lower Rainham. This was closely followed by our traditional dance over Barming Bridge (aka Kettle Bridge) to herald the official start of the Morris year.

Reports and pictures of these events are now available. Click here to see them.

The webmaster will be providing coverage of subsequent events once his medication kicks in.
